The Now What?

In my time, here on this place called earth, I have witnessed so many changes in the lifestyles we live; after all, who thought they would put their phone in a pocket or purse. Who thought that same phone would also become our computer, oh that is right, look at the way we produce a document now, typewriters are outdated. We have cars that almost drive on their own and why not, cars are equipped with road maps on a small computer chip that is part of the cars brainwork. Very few individuals know how to read an old style folded paper map, who needs to. So many wild and wonderful inventions have come about over the last 50 years; it shows the great minds that are out there thinking, working, and dreaming. Yet when I think about so many other things happening on this earth, it leaves me with a nasty perception and a feeling of dread for the future of our nation and how the road is being paved for the end.

There are many things in need of fixing that affect the lives of everyone, and those individuals in charge of fixing those things are in that position by voters, electoral voters. The electoral voters have no clue of how their decisions concern us, the everyday working, tax-paying citizens nor do they care. No, they go about their lives with overpriced lunches fleecing the rest of us of our hard-earned money. Think about it, do you really think the average working Americans one vote counted? The election is over before all the election booths are closed and votes counted. Which leads to the individuals that become in charge of making decisions on the behalf of the working American that did not even get a say in whether we wanted them or not.

Now here we are and decisions are being made without any real thought process put into the problem, as if “Let us just quickly change this and the American people will see I am a person of my word, and I will make everything wonderful and better”. No! Every problem this country has needs to have some real thought put into it, not a quick fix or a temporary Band-Aid. Look how each decision could and will affect each sector of our nation not just the higher income or the lower income, there is an income level that falls in the middle and that is the level getting screwed. Let us use the problem of healthcare for an example. I do not understand how the government of what was once the greatest nation cannot seem to get this so called Health Care Reform to work. I will use my own insurance numbers to show what is happening to almost all Americans in the same economical class.

The start of Obamacare, our health insurance premium for the year 2010 was $4270.00 for the whole year and that was for one adult male and one adult female. The coverage was for medical, prescriptions, dental, vision, and life. The deductible was $2000.00 per individual $4000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $5.00, and office visit co-pay was $20.00, there was no limit on how many office visits per year.

Our 2011 premium increased to $6310.00 for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female. Coverage was for medical, prescriptions, dental, vision. The deductible increased $4000.00 per individual $8000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $10.00, and office visit co-pay was $25.00, there was no limit on how many office visits per year. Increase in cost and the loss of life insurance.

Our 2012 premium increased to $8266.00 for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female. Coverage was for medical and prescriptions. The deductible increased $6000.00 per individual $12000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $10.00, and office visit co-pay was $30.00, and only allowed three (3) office visits per year. Increase in cost and the loss of dental, vision, and life insurance.

Our 2013 premium had a decrease to $8232.00 for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female. Coverage was for medical and prescriptions. The deductible of $6000.00 per individual $12000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $10.00, and office visit co-pay was $35.00, and only allowed three (3) office visits per year. Decrease in cost and still no dental, vision, or life insurance.

Our 2014 premium had an increased to $10,228.00 for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female. Coverage was for medical and prescriptions. The deductible of $6000.00 per individual $12000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $10.00, and office visit co-pay was $35.00, and only allowed three (3) office visits per year. Increase in cost and still no dental, vision, or life insurance.

Our 2015 premium had an increased to $10,742.00for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female.

Our 2016 coverage was the biggest slap ever. Premium increased to $11,171.00 for the whole year for one adult male and one adult female. Coverage was for medical and prescriptions. The deductible stayed $6000.00 per individual $12000.00 for family, prescription co-pay was $10.00, and office visit co-pay was $20.00 with no limit on office visits per year. Increase in cost and still no dental, vision, or life insurance.

These huge increases is all due to the wonderful tax credit that is given. I am sure it works out great if you are one of those individual Americans who are on welfare or unemployment.

You know those individuals the ones who pay maybe $200.00 in taxes throughout the year and then get an $8000.00 return. Just another problem that needs fixing and one I strongly feel will stop a huge leak of money, but right now, focus on healthcare.  Insurance companies and drug manufacturers are taking advantage of the healthcare law; these companies know the government mandates health insurance; therefore, it gives them the freedom to set prices wherever they want. I do not have all the answers but I would start with giving insurance companies and drug manufactures incentives to lower prices so the average working American can afford the mandate insurance and medications, I have one medication I take and without insurance, it is $2496.00 per month.

Things cannot continue the way they are going unless the government has another goal in mind for the American citizens. (this could be my conspiracy mind thinking)  How would the founding fathers of this country react to the behavior of the sitting leaders today? For me it is very hard to trust or look at the current President seriously. He reminds of the spoilt kid that always got their way or they would scream and cry. The United States of America is no longer a great nation, it is a nation led by a power hungry, egomaniac, spoilt adult who shows no respect or dignity for any others. His cabinet looks and sounds like a bunch of frightened little kids who he bullied into position. There could be a plus side; terrorist groups may think the United States got what it had coming and now an idiot leads the country and it will not be long before the United States will self-destruct.

Look around people that destruction has already begun, with people killing others over the fact they do not like the color of their skin, their religion, or the way they drive.

I ask you the people of the United States, if we do not pull together and learn to work together towards the greater cause of our nation, then who will?moon
